Victoria's Story

Victoria lost both of her parents in the war in Liberia and fled to neighbouring Ivory Coast to find refuge.  There she was forced by her desperate situation to enter a relationship with a man who would support her. At a young age she had two children with this man but they were later taken away from her by her partner and his family. Alone again she made her way to Guinea, leaving her children behind. She was fortunate to make contact with CRS when she arrived in Conakry and decided to devote all her time and energy to her education which she missed out on as a child, becoming one of the oldest students at CRS

“I am in great need of someone to help me pay the rent, for food and my school fees. I do not want to make the same mistake again.”

Today ...

VictoriaReceiving financial support through FCRS was like an angel coming down to me from heaven.  The sponsorship has changed my life.  I am no longer stopping with friends but now have my own place.  I have no more worries about how to pay for my schooling.

CRS Victoria is showing great determination in trying to catch up with her lessons.  She has been unable to attend school for years because of the war.  However she is doing her best at her age now to complete high school.  She attends regularly and is always around teachers for some study.  With time she will be among the best.
