Hassanatu Jalloh
|
| Hassanatu is 19 and lives with her mother and twin sister, Hussanatu. They left their elderly father in Liberia when they fled to Guinea for safety during the civil war. To attend school Hassanatu and her sister have to walk 2 km to and from the School every day. They have been selling soup on the streets after school to try to raise money to buy food for the family and pay their tuition fees. Last year they did not complete their studies due to lack of funds to pay for tuition fees, rent, food and transport.
“My favourite subject is commerce. I like to read my lesson notes after school , play football and listen to music but I have no radio in my house."

| | Hassanatu: Financial assistance through FCRS has made a big, big impact on our lives. Firstly we are no longer worried about being unable to pay our tuition fees as was the case in previous years. Secondly we no longer have to scout around for money to obtain uniforms, shoes, books, pens, etc. Thirdly we are not having to walk to and from school every day.
CRS: Hassanatu is studying commercial subjects and is enjoying her studies. She would love to be a business woman. With support she could be successful. |
