Habib Papa Kamara

Habib is 14.  He was born in Sierra Leone but was brought to Guinea to escape the brutalities of the civil war there.  He lives with his mother and stepfather near the school. The whereabouts of his father is unknown. His mother struggles to pay his tuitionfees and she sometimes does people’s laundry or sells vegetables in the market to earn money.  Habib often comes to school hungry and without money to buy anything to eat.

“I like to play basketball after school and football. My favourite subject is mathematics”

Habib:  I thank god for the people paying my school fees and buying me books and uniform.  Before my mother had to wash people’s clothes to buy them for me.

CRS:  Habib is a smart little boy.  Even though things are hard for him he is doing fine in his lessons.
